The Role
Applications are invited for a visiting Stipendiary Fellowship schemefor the academic year 2013-2014. You will provide support to scholars with relevant subject expertise to pursue innovative and interdisciplinary research in an environment tailored to such work, free from the competitive institutional constraints of other UK University institutions. Part of the role will also involve engaging a broad range of UK and international scholars with their research through the formation of networks and collaboration in research projects, publications and conferences.
Additionally, Fellows will be responsible for pursuing research in the Humanities pertaining to the work of the Institute; convening academic events; presenting research findings; preparing articles for publication and assisting with the editing of articles in the ISA in-house publication series at the request ofthe Series Editor (the director of the Institute). Requirements
The Fellowship is open to researchers at any career stage, but those without a PhD (in a relevant discipline) would not normally be eligible.

The Institute for the study of the Americas (ISA) is one of ten institutes comprising the School of Advanced Study at the University of London. The School promotes and facilitates the research of the scholarly community in the UK and overseas in the humanities and social sciences which it undertakes this mission through academic events, publications, fellowships, libraries, online/digital research resources, networks and collaborations. Further Information
A stipend of £1,500 per calendar month is offered to the successful candidates. The 2013-2014 scheme will provide for funding for between three and eight months during the academic year (1 August 2013 to 31 July 2014).
