Job Purpose
Salary Grade 7 - £31,331 to £36,298 per annum pro rata (0.6 FTE)

Your role will be to take responsibility for the co-ordination of support from pre-entry to course completion for the University's disabled students at all levels from foundation to doctoral level and whether FT, PT, DL. This role does not include work with students with specific learning difficulties and Asperger syndrome as these students already have specialised in-house staff working with them.
You will provide relevant specialised information, advice and guidance for prospective students and their parents in relation to students with major sensory disabilities, or physical disabilities or long term health conditions planning to attend the University.
In addition, you will be required to maintain records and other administrative documents which are of a personal and sensitive nature and evaluate the service on a regular basis in order to continuously improve existing provision.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 because the postholder will have substantial access to young people and/or vulnerable adults. Therefore, an appointment to this post will be subject to checking through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The successful applicant for this post will, therefore, be required to give consent for the University to check with the DBS for the existence and content of any criminal record in the form of an Enhanced Disclosure. Information received from the DBS and the police will be kept in strict confidence and will be destroyed once the University is satisfied in this regard.
