An innovative, enthusiastic, experienced post doctoral research scientist is sought to work on a large collaborative project at Queen Mary, University of London which is funded by Barts and The London Charity. The post holder will work with other key members of the team based both at QMUL and Barts Health NHS Trust with particular emphasis placed on investigating the role of epigenetics and genomics on the inflammatory response to both severe trauma and infection. The post holder will be expected to lead in the design and optimization of experiments related to DNA methylation, non coding RNA sequencing and histone modifications and will also be expected to provide guidance and support to PhD staff undertaking immunology experiments on the same patient group.
 
Experience of DNA methylation techniques, RNA / DNA sequencing, flow cytometry and PCR techniques are highly desirable. Further details are to be found in the job description.
 
The post is full time and on a fixed term 36 month contract with consideration given to career development of the successful candidate. The starting salary will be £34,283 - £40,335 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
