The School of Physics and Micro-electronics Science at Hunan University have complete academic system covering bachelor's, Master’s and Ph.D. degree, which own two key disciplines of Hunan province, the Physics and the Electronics Science & Technology. The School has a key laboratory of Ministry of Education and a key laboratory of Hunan province. The research projects that we have completed include the chief project of National Basic Research Program (“973” Program), the National Key Technology R&D Program ("863" Project), and the key project of Natural Science Foundation. The ranking of physics on ESI entered the top 1% of global list of universities.

There are 74 faculty members in our school which include one member of Chinese Academy of Engineering. Some faculty members won illustrious awards and titles, such as “National Qian-Ren plan” Scholar, National Outstanding Young Investigator Awards, Chang-Jiang Chair Professorship, Chief Scientists in “973 Program”.

General Responsibilities and Requirements for All Positions:

• Conducting full-time teaching and research in the disciplines of Physics, Electronics, Integrated Circuits, Nanoelectronics, and Optoelectronics.
• Obtaining a PhD degree from an internationally renowned university.
• Research experience with outstanding academic achievements will be a huge plus.
• Applications of non-Chinese origin should have basic Chinese communication skills.

Specific Requirements for different positions:

• Assistant professor: at least 3 papers published on SCI journals as first author; at least one year experience of overseas studying or research.
• Associate professor: at least 5 papers published on SCI journals as first author, including 1 paper published on the top journal of the discipline; at least one year experience of overseas studying or research.
• Professor: at least 10 papers published on SCI journals as first or corresponding author, including 3 papers published on the top journal of the disciplines; at least three years experience of overseas research.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Annual salary RMB 80,000 for assistant professor, RMB 110,000 for associate professor and RMB150,000 for professor. Specific treatments for outstanding applicants are to be negotiated in person.
• Settlement allowance RMB 200,000 for professors and RMB 140,000 for associate professors and assistant professors, paid in monthly within five years.
• Monthly accommodation rental subsidy within 2 years, RMB 400 for unmarried and RMB 600 for married.
• Start-up research fund RMB 100,000 for professors.
• Youth Scholars funding available for assistant professor and associated professor under 40 years old, with a lump-sum research grant of RMB 200,000/250,000, annual payment in five years.
• Full university benefits and public insurance.
• 3 month University semester vacation, summer vacation runs from July to August and Winter vacation around Chinese New Year.
