Summary

The Divisional Manager's main role is to manage the planning and provision of effective operational services related to teaching, research, and administration within the Division of Imaging Sciences and Biomedical Engineering. As part of this, the Divisional Manager provides the lead administrative support for the Division’s research activities in the areas of finance, change management, human resource management, funding administration and general office administration.

The role centres on working in both an advisory and consultative capacity with the Head of Division and other Senior Academics to ensure that Divisional objectives are met and relevant College/School responsibilities are fulfilled. The Divisional Manager acts as a central resource: facilitating information exchange and dissemination across the whole Division, and is an integral member of the Divisional management team, who contributes to the development of Divisional strategy across all areas. 

Details

The successful candidate will be a highly organised and proactive individual who has proven senior leadership and relationship management skills. Extensive experience in financial management, including managing budgets and development of business plans is essential. The candidate should have demonstrable and substantial strategic and operational management experience as well as a good understanding of Human Resources legislation.

The post requires a positive and flexible hands-on attitude and approach, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as strong understanding of major issues impacting on Higher Education Institutions. Experience of working effectively in a high-pressure environment is essential. An understanding of NHS/NIHR structures and policies relating to research is desirable.

Salary

The appointment will be made within the Grade 7 scale, currently £38,522 - £45,941 per annum plus £2,323 per annum London Allowance.
