Background

Glyndŵr University is an ambitious and progressive academic institution with global geographic bases including North Wales, London and Athens. The location in North East Wales is one of the most dynamic business regions in this country and the Glyndwr University Business School is the only one located within this region. The London location is within sight of the central business district of the City of London. The School offers a broad range of undergraduate programmes, more specialist MA and MSc programmes and focused MBA pathways at postgraduate level. The research degrees include PhDs and a new DBA, which is in development. It is also about to launch an exciting suite of Professional Development programmes to further support and integrate with its local business communities.

Responsibilities

This is a rare opportunity to become a significant part of the future success of our growing team. The successful candidate will be expected to assume a role within the department in accordance with the expectations of a lecturer or senior lecturer. The appointee will also contribute to our Management Research Centre's programme and provide strong support to the Professional Development programmes, particularly in terms of the Executive MBA and ACCA qualification courses. This represents a superb opportunity to join a team with a clear vision of its future positioning and with the means and will to achieve its objectives.

Candidates for the position should be capable of conducting research in Accounting and Finance to a high standard, and aim to submit publications in top international academic journals. Candidates should also be able to contribute effectively to the teaching of both undergraduate and post-graduate courses. In particular, we are seeking a candidate that is comfortable in delivering within the field of Management Accounting. Applicants will need to be qualified accountants and either hold or be willing to study for a PhD.
