The College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Hunan University has a rich history of education culture, scientific innovation and technological development that can be traced back to 1908. The college has established complete programs including B.S. degree, M.S. degree and Ph.D. degree in two primary disciplines such as Chemistry and Chemical Engineering with more than 60 doctors, 220 postgraduates and 230 undergraduates enrolled every year. Its faculty includes 2 CAS members, 4 “1000 talent program” professors and 5 winners of outstanding young scientist fund. The college has national key discipline (Analytical Chemistry), a State Key Laboratory of Chemo/Bio-Sensing and Chemometrics, an Engineering Center for Advanced Catalysis of Ministry of Education, and a Key Laboratory for Bionanotechnology and Molecular Engineering of Hunan Province.

Hunan University is situated at the foot of the picturesque Yuelu Mountain, and on the west bank of the rippling Xiang River in the historically and culturally renowned City of Changsha, capital city of Hunan Province.
It is one of the key universities affiliated with the Ministry of Education of China, and is now included in the state's "Project 211" and "Project 985" for priority investment and construction.
