Job overview:

The Centre for Fine Print Research is seeking applications from candidates who possess sufficient breadth or depth of specialist knowledge in fine art print to undertake practice-led research within a collaborative studio environment to develop new concepts and ideas to extend intellectual understanding within the discipline.

Key selection criteria:

Essential

• A good postgraduate degree in an appropriate discipline

Desirable

•A higher degree in an appropriate discipline, preferably a PhD in electronics, electromechanical engineering or robotics.

Applicants should have the knowledge and skills to be able to decide on research programmes and methodologies, in collaboration with colleagues and subject to the approval of the director of the CFPR on fundamental issues. The applicant should be able to demonstrate that they are able to use initiative and creativity to identify areas for research, develop new research methods and extend the research portfolio. This research will build on existing research but will be largely self-directed and the applicant should be able to demonstrate a track record of carrying out research within either HEI or relevant creative industry. The applicant will also be expected to be part of a team developing bids for external funding for further research in this area as well as publishing research outputs and developing innovative means of dissemination and the application of research outcomes.

Salary band: £30,424 - £45,941
