Grade 6 point 28 - £28,685 pro rata per annum

The post is for a part-time Research Assistant to work on a Knowledge Exchange Project alongside Professor Jacquie L’Etang and Dr Magda Pieczka.

The Project will explore public relations professional practice in Scotland. The Research Assistant will be expected to carry out basic research and to design and deliver workshops. There will be opportunities to co-author publications for appropriate peer reviewed journals and to co-present findings at conferences.

Essential requirements are for a postgraduate degree in public relations of a related discipline such as media/communications; research skills including basic survey techniques (SPSS), qualitative methods and focus groups; the ability to design and implement skill-based workshops for public relations professionals; good organizational skills including project management skills; excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Desirable qualifications are for a PhD in a relevant discipline preferably public relations or media studies; relevant professional qualifications/experience; experience of academic publication; knowledge of public relations and media industries; familiarity with NVIVO; listening, negotiation and liaison skills.
