Postdoctoral Position in Strategy-As-Practice Research Project
University of Aarhus - Department of Management
|Contract Type:||Contract / Temporary|
|Placed on:||6th September 2016|
|Closes:||1st November 2016|
The Department of Management at Aarhus BSS, Aarhus University, invites applications for a two-year postdoctoral position offering applicants an exciting opportunity to join a new research project on Strategy-as-Practice (SAP) in Global Business aimed at advancing a SAP agenda in the context of multinational corporation (MNC) research.
The starting date for the successful candidate is 1 March 2017 or subject to mutual agreement.
The research project
The project focuses on the work of strategizing in MNCs. As organizational spaces shaped by pluralistic contexts, where top managers face emergent strategies of multiple actors within and across dispersed units, MNCs lend themselves to a SAP lens that considers strategising as an ongoing practical, social accomplishment.
The project aims to contribute to the general SAP field as well as to the study of the strategic organizing of MNCs. The project is expected to generate high-quality research and is externally funded.
Who are you?
Candidates must hold a PhD relevant to the academic areas of the Department of Management, preferably with experience within one or more of the following areas: Strategy-as-practice, organisation studies, MNCs and qualitative methods or ethnography.
The successful candidate demonstrates a high level of English skills. Danish language skills are not required.
The succesful candidate is expected to contribute to the overall objectives of the project by being involved in the data collection (field studies in MNCs in Denmark and around the world, e.g., interviews, observation) as well as the other phases of the research process, including data analysis, writing of articles and the ongoing development of the project.
The position is research-oriented, but may involve teaching assignments. This means that the successful candidate is expected to provide a dedicated contribution to both the department’s research and teaching environment.
