Research Administrator

A leading London university is currently recruiting for a Research Grants Administrator who will be responsible for aspects of both pre and post award research administration.

The successful candidate must have experience in either Pre or Post Award research but does not have to have experience of both.

They will perform a range of activities as follows:

Pre Award:

  • Manage research grant routines and procedures
  • Set up research awards
  • Accurately calculate and transfer indirect and estates costs
  • Maintain accurate reconciliations of all accounts
  • Generate invoices in line with the Terms and Conditions of the funder
  • Prepare basic financial statements for sign off
  • Deal with general day to day queries from Departments and Credit Control on all aspects of research administration
  • Ensure the College has fulfilled its obligations prior to closing the research grant

Post Award:

  • Processing invoices
  • Dealing with claim reconciliations
  • Liaising with academics
  • Analysis of budget variances
  • Dealing with electronic audit files
  • Prepare basic financial statements for sign off
