The School of Geographical Sciences invites applications for a Lectureship, Senior Lectureship, or Readership from scholars who will deepen and strengthen our research capacities in Human Geography. The post will augment and extend our international research profile and excellence in the areas of Geographies of Political Economy and/or Historical and Cultural Geography. The School is eager to appoint at any of the advertised levels.
Candidates should bring innovation, dynamism, and proven abilities in research and research-led teaching. Demonstrating existing success or future potential – depending on career stage – successful applicants will join a vibrant community of scholarship and critical engagement. We are a wide-ranging and collegial School, and we pride ourselves on fostering intellectual curiosity in a collaborative and supportive environment. While contributing to the School’s international research profile, the successful applicant can also look forward to opportunities for participation in interdisciplinary reading groups, workshops, and research seminars, and to join university-wide research initiatives and institutes. The School and University strongly encourage research and teaching engagement with local, national, and international public, private, and third sector organisations. Altogether, the School, University, and City of Bristol provide for one of the most stimulating environments in the world for scholarly excellence and innovation in research and teaching.
