New College Group (NCG) is a specialist college providing English Language Courses to Adults and Young Learners and Corporate Training.  An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Global Sales & Marketing Director who will be responsible for managing a team developing key markets through strategic business opportunities. Based in Manchester you will be working with Europe, Latin America and the Far East.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage budgets and have full responsibility to manage costs, arrange trips and all agent activities, ensuring budgets are not exceeded
  • Maintain an in depth sales strategy, to identify outcome of sales and organise agent activities and plan trips  
  • Working with government bodies, international companies and institutions to create learning and training solutions 
  • Develop, promote and constantly improve an extensive client network within international education
  • Planning and attending international conferences and fairs; liaising with government, agents, institutions, etc to create significant business opportunities in addition to developing strong relationships
  • Completing and maintaining up to date marketing records and promotional activities in addition to keeping a database of all contacts via our CRM system
  • Creating and driving a Sales & Marketing strategy within a growing organisation
  • Have demonstrable experience of sales analytical skills
  • Extensive travelling  
  • Source international markets for direct recruitment of students
  • Develop & promote sales and revenues across various sites, including our centres in Manchester and Liverpool
  • Assist finance department with chasing fees, debts etc for all bookings


  • Must be UK based with proficiency in English language
  • Dynamic, target driven and sales focussed
  • Proficiency in international languages would be advantageous but not essential
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to identify and develop new opportunities and markets via direct sales channels
  • Self starter who can hit the ground running
  • Proven track record of delivering sales targets within the international student sector
  • Existing strong relationships with agents in the UK and internationally

Essential Criteria:

  • Must have a proven track record in generating Sales Revenue targets and forecast
  • Must have proven experience of leading a 10 + Sales Team
  • Must be a naturally driven leader
  • Must be a proficient and confident user of modern technology across all markets (for eg, media, blogs, social media etc) and be proficient in report writing
  • Minimum 5 years experience of working in a Sales & Marketing role in the Education industry at Director level
  • A proven track record of exceeding sales targets and a thorough understanding of the International Education department
  • Preferably Manchester based
  • Must have right to work in the UK
  • Bachelors / Masters degree
  • Experience in the EFL industry Managing agents Fluency in at least one language relevant the designated region

Working with children and young people under the age of 18, vulnerable adults, and students with special educational needs and disabilities
