The School of Architecture, Computing & Engineering is seeking to appoint a Director of Learning & Teaching. Reporting to the Dean, the Director will be responsible for leading on School strategies and initiatives that provide an excellent student education, delivering positive outcomes in the retention, progression, academic achievement and employability of our highly diverse student body. The Director will have strategic and operational responsibilities that include oversight of quality assurance and standards, quality enhancement and professional standards, and delivering on our commitments to the Office of Fair Access.

The successful candidate will have a first degree and a Doctorate in a relevant discipline or high level professional experience in a relevant area, with particular experience and strength in learning & teaching. You will have excellent communication, innovation and change management skills and have the ability to develop policy and initiate organisational change. Experience of staff and budget management and successful academic leadership is essential. You will be a dynamic leader capable of developing a dynamic vision and possess the ability to pursue that vision globally. Knowledgeable in how multiple areas of the School interact, you will bring a fresh approach and an ability to develop professional and collegial relationships with both administrative and academic staff.
