We are looking for a Laboratory Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the Quantum Nanotechnologies Laboratory. You will possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the area of cryogenic systems, microwave electronics, and lasers to support the experimental facilities on a daily basis. The position is available for a fixed-term for up to 5 years.
You will be responsible for operating, maintaining and repairing equipment in the laboratory. You will provide training and practical supervision of external users, students and other researchers, and be responsible for ensuring there is a strong safety culture in the laboratory.
You will have significant engineering and technical expertise and experience, ideally supported by relevant HNC/degree level training in Engineering or a related area. Good communication skills are also essential, including the ability to train all levels of users in the use of this specialised equipment, and to write training and other manuals. Ability to start by January 2017 would be desirable.
