Grade 8/9 - Lecturer salary £38,896 - £46,414, potential progression to £52,219 a year.
Senior Lecturer/Reader salary £47,801- £55,389, potential progression to £72,224 a year. The successful candidate will be appointed at the appropriate grade.
The School of Psychology at the University of Birmingham is embarking on a phase of major recruitment as a result of outstanding performance in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF) and major investment provided to the School by the University. The School will be moving to new accommodation in the form of a fully refurbished, purpose-designed space and a new-build Centre for Human Brain Health that will house our new MRI and MEG facilities, sleep lab, and the newly appointed Chair in Translational Neuroscience.
We wish to strengthen our staffing complement to accomplish out ambitious research and teaching goals by making new faculty appointments. We are particularly keen to recruit in the area of lifespan development. Additionally, we would welcome colleagues who bring new methodological approaches including computational neuroscience, genetics, MEG, MRI, or qualitative methods. These appointments are intended to build on our strengths in cognitive neuroscience, social cognition, and neurodevelopmental disorders, and our ambition to translate that science into applications for the betterment of society.
We seek applications from junior members of staff, beginning their careers, and from established academics. Exceptional senior candidates may be considered for the conferment of the title of Reader.
