|Salary:||£31,076 to £38,183 per annum (grade 7)|

|Closes:||30th November 2016|
Development and application of novel probes for profiling E3 ligases.
Applications are invited for multiple openings for Postdoctoral Research Assistants in the lab of Dr Satpal Virdee. Research will involve chemical proteomic platforms based upon powerful probe technology recently developed in his lab for profiling the activity of E3 ligases (Nature Chemical Biology 2016, 12, 324–331). Projects range from further probe development and application to a broader spectrum of enzymes, to biological investigation and characterization of E3 ligases implicated in disease relevant signalling pathways. Other projects involve extension of the probe technology to RING E3 ligases allowing the assignment of RING E3 ligases to their cognate substrates. The candidates should ideally have recently carried out a PhD working in the area of chemical biology, cell biology or biochemistry. Experience with mass spectrometry would also be beneficial. Chemical biology experience encompassing both organic synthesis and tissue culture techniques would be highly desirable. Regarding cell biology and biochemistry related projects, experience pertaining to the ubiquitin system would be preferential but not essential.
The successful applicants will join an international team in an exciting and interactive environment, equipped to the highest international standards.
For informal enquiries please contact Dr Virdee directly firstname.lastname@example.org
