We have an opportunity for a bright and enthusiastic individual within our Centre for Engineering Materials as a PhD student, working on a project concerned with the chemistry interfaces between MDI process mixtures and treated metal surfaces. You’ll be based primarily on campus at Surrey. In addition, there will be regular visits to the sponsor, which may include the opportunity for specialist training, if required.
You will have access to the University’s excellent characterisation facilities as well as relevant facilities at Huntsman.
You’ll need to have a good undergraduate degree (first or upper-second class honours), or an MSc degree, in a subject with some physical sciences content; for example, a first degree in materials/mechanical/aerospace engineering.
Contact Prof John Watts by email email@example.com for further information on the project and guidance on how to apply.
Applications for the project are invited for immediate interviews.
The project will start in January 2017 or earlier by negotiation.
Applications will close on or before Friday 23rd December 2016 at 1200 or earlier on securing an appropriate candidate.
