This post offers an exciting opportunity to conduct cutting-edge research on energy innovation. The post holder will conduct novel empirical research on energy innovation systems and technological change. The findings will inform innovation policy and modelling, and provide analytical support for the EU's Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET Plan).
Within this broad remit, the post holder will have considerable scope and autonomy to direct their research towards areas of interest e.g., by focusing on specific technologies, countries, or innovation processes.
This post is funded by the EU as part of a major new project involving 14 academic and industry partners across Europe. Together with Dr Charlie Wilson at the Tyndall Centre, the post holder will play an active role in this consortium and will also be fully integrated into established Tyndall Centre research networks. The post will involve periodic travel to project meetings in European cities, and offers the possibility of more extended research visits to partner institutions.
The post holder should have expertise in energy innovation, skills in quantitative data collection & analysis, and a PhD in a relevant discipline. The post holder should also be able to fulfil all essential elements of the person specification.
The post is for 24 months full-time starting on 9 January 2017 and based in the Tyndall Centre at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, UK.
