The University of Birmingham is undertaking a major business process change initiative involving replacement of its core HR, Payroll and Finance systems named the New Core Project. This is a multi-year business driven project that will deliver both business change and new IT systems to support the University’s ambitious plans to be a leading global University. In tandem with the replacement of core systems, the objective of the project is to improve and adapt business processes. It is envisaged that the New Core project will deliver the replacement of the University’s HR, Payroll and Finance systems in phased stages from mid-2017 to mid-2018 using Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications.
To support this, working in conjunction with the New Core implementation partners, a Middleware Specialist is sought to join an existing team to develop, update and maintain data interfaces predominantly using Microsoft’s BizTalk platform for all aspects of this complex project, reporting to the New Core Data Workstream Lead. The Middleware Specialist will work closely with the other New Core business workstreams to develop integration components using Microsoft BizTalk to meet the requirements of the New Core Project and the University. This work will run through all phases of the project, including design, build, acceptance and release.
