New exciting opportunities have arisen in the Programme Management Office (PMO) for two experienced Project Managers looking to develop their careers at a world-leading university. The main objectives for the roles within the PMO team of Enterprise Department is to provide day-to-day management for a portfolio of projects, including but not limited to academic-driven commercial projects and European Commission (EC) funded research projects. The post-holders will also lead on the development of proposals and commercial tenders with relevant funding bodies.
The post holders will be required to manage projects through working alongside other members of the PMO to provide an efficient project management service to academic teams across Imperial, including project delivery as well as managing the development of proposals and supporting bid management activities. The roles will include managing the interface with key academic staff, supporting contracts and administrative staff as well as dealing with representatives from client/customer organisations.
The post holders will be key members in the College’s Enterprise Department, which is responsible for driving forward strategically important commercial opportunities for Imperial College. The work of Enterprise Department directly underpins Imperial’s mission, thereby supporting the development of new or enhanced research, education and knowledge exchange capabilities across all Faculties of the university and on behalf of Imperial’s academic community. The PMO team has a specific focus on managing funded programmes and projects. This includes EC funded projects (and proposals) and academic-driven commercial projects including a number of high-profile international projects.
The successful candidates will have experience of managing technical projects to a high standard and a practical knowledge of developing and delivering projects in an academic or industrial R&D context. Good working knowledge of governmental and commercial funders of academic research and related funding procedures is also required.
