The University of Bolton has embarked on an ambitious enhancement agenda as a ‘Teaching Intensive, Research Informed’ (TIRI) University. Its robust financial position and recent achievements put the University in a good position to capitalise on the challenges and opportunities of the current HE environment.
In this context, we are seeking to appoint a Teaching Excellence Specialist (which may be aligned to the following academic areas; business and social science, STEM, creative industries and the humanities, depending on operational requirements) to drive teaching excellence and build capability in line with our TIRI strategic agenda.
In these new roles you will lead on the development and roll-out of the University’s teaching observation scheme, identify best practice and work with colleagues to provide support and academic professional development across our academic Schools. You will also play a key role in the delivery of the new Learning, Teaching and Assessment Strategy, enhancing the student experience and driving up further teaching quality and support strategies - in response to the emerging Teaching Excellence Framework.
The successful candidates will have a degree in a relevant subject area, a PhD and hold fellowship status with the HEA. You will also need to have credible experience of running a teaching observation scheme, academic professional development but also a successful track record in teaching and research at the Lecturer / Senior Lecturer level.
