The Department of Chemistry Synthesis for Biology and Medicine Centre for Doctoral Training (SBM CDT) is looking for a Programme Manager to cover maternity leave. The post is available from November 2016 and is a fixed-term maternity cover for up to 1 year.
Working together with the SBM CDT Directors and Programme Administrator, the postholder will coordinate and manage the day-to-day running of the programme. You will be responsible for liaising with students, academics and industrial partners, looking at ways to benefit the research undertaken by the SBM CDT. You will ensure efficient and effective knowledge transfer and collaboration, without compromising the University's interests.
As Programme Manager, you will have research experience at an appropriate level (e.g. PhD) in a relevant field. Your organisational and team working skills will be excellent, along with your ability to prioritise. Your communication will be excellent and you will be able to communicate effectively in writing, orally and by presentations, including computer literacy in relevant scientific, management and presentational software. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential, dealing with all levels of people from students, to Academics and external industrial experts. You will have knowledge of Chemistry research and the ability to efficiently manage external research funds, remaining within budget at all times.
The post will be based in the Department of Chemistry, South Parks Road, Oxford, OX1 3TA.
The post is intended to be full-time, however we will consider applications from those who are looking for flexible working opportunities (e.g. 4 days a week or shorter working days).
