We are looking for a dynamic and ambitious academic practitioner/ researcher to lead the first year of MA Material Futures and to play a key role in delivering our world leading and unique course. As First Year Leader you will provide a highly stimulating and nurturing environment for students and colleagues alike. You will be responsible for assuring the academic standards of the year and its delivery through your academic leadership and the effective management of resources.
You will contribute to the the vision and strategic thinking of the course to shape the design, development and future of the MA Material Futures first year curriculum and play a significant role in the course team. You will build on the international reputation of the course and enhance professional, academic and research partnerships to ensure that the course continues to anticipate the changing needs of the global industry, commerce and society.
As a sophisticated and innovative materials futures designer / researcher and academic, you’ll be regarded as a leading authority within your own area. You will have an in depth understanding and personal experience of the relationship of materials futures education with industry, both nationally and internationally.
As an experienced, creative and highly motivated academic, with an inventive approach to the enlivenment of students’ learning experience and high aspirations for their achievement, you’ll be able to take up the challenges of enabling diverse student cohorts to explore the discipline of Materials Futures Design at Central Saint Martins, and foster new approaches to design and research. Previous experience of teaching materials futures at postgraduate level is essential.
