The School of Science and Technology is an innovative multi-disciplinary environment for learning, teaching and research. Our portfolio of courses covers the core disciplines of Mathematics, Physics, Biosciences, Chemistry, Forensics, Sport Science, Computing and Technology. Our teaching aims to be exciting, innovative and relevant and is highly regarded, with Mathematics rating joint third nationally in the 2014 National Student Survey. The research of the Mathematics Team is also multi-disciplinary and contributed to highly rated REF2014 submissions in Allied Health (A03), General Engineering (B15) and Computing & Informatics (B11).

We are seeking to appoint a statistician with excellent communication and presentation skills to undertake teaching and associated duties on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Mathematics. Your expertise will cover the broad area of undergraduate probability and statistics, including computational statistics (using R) and applications. Teaching duties could involve, for example, the delivery of lectures and seminars (examples classes) plus various duties associated with assessment, feedback and tutorial provision across the Mathematics portfolio. The post arises from the need to provide sabbatical cover and is fixed term for six months.
