You will be an enthusiastic and confident social media expert, experienced in community management and advertising, with a clear understanding of the potential benefits of different social media channels for the University of Sussex.
Working closely with the Communications and External Affairs division, as well as colleagues from Student Recruitment and Marketing, you will be able to spot the conversation starter in every development at the University, and understand how to leverage social networks to enhance the University’s profile.
You will continue to develop and implement social media plans for the institution, building organic awareness and working closely with marketing managers to complement paid marketing campaigns. You will also run paid social media advertising for the University and be responsible for briefing external agencies.
The post-holder will also have a key role to play in providing analysis and evidence to make the business case for new developments, to evaluate and report on the impact of activities undertaken and to inform innovation, advice and guidance for all departments of the University. Reporting to the Head of Marketing and working closely with the Digital and Creative Media
Team, you will understand the importance of strong branding in communications and be the gatekeeper for the Sussex brand and tone of voice on all social platforms.
Experience with youth markets is desirable and networking skills within the institution will be key to success. You will need to be personable, self-motivated and diplomatic, with a knack for presenting results in an easy to understand manner and the ability to demystify social media channels.
