King’s College London is a large multi-faculty research led University with five main campuses in the central London area and close links with three London NHS Foundation Trusts. The university wishes to appoint a Senior Fire Safety Officer working within a central team of specialist and generalist health and safety officers in Health & Safety Services within the Directorate of Strategy, Planning and Assurance.
The post holder will be the university’s competent person in relation to fire safety matters ensuring best fire safety practice is applied to university activities and its estate portfolio. The role requires the post holder to have comprehensive knowledge of fire safety legislation, experience of developing policy and a fire safety management system, and advising on legal compliance and good practice. The post holder will also liaise with external enforcing authorities. As such, the post will be expected to develop policy, procedures and strategy relating to fire safety management and in particular to PAS7.
The selection process will include presentation & assessment and panel interview.
Interviews are scheduled to be held around the end of October/early November 2016.
