Brunel University London is seeking to invest in a series of strategic appointments within the Department of Education to continue to build on our recent outstanding successes in both teaching and research and to develop our continuum of provision.
- We were graded ‘Outstanding’ for both PGCE Primary and Secondary ITE provision in our Ofsted inspection of 2015.
- We offer a continuum of provision including: BA Education; PGCE Primary and Secondary programmes with QTS; MA in Education; MA in Teaching; Professional Doctorate in Education (EdDoc); PhD in Education.
- In REF 2014 60% of our research was identified as world leading or internationally excellent; 90% of our impact was graded as internationally excellent; this made us the most improved education Department in terms of 3* and 4* outputs and impact.
- Research in the Department is focused on STEM Education, Pedagogy and Curriculum, Teacher Education and Professional Education, Social Justice, Inclusive Education, Educational Theory and Policy.
The candidate will be expected to participate in at least one of the research centres and/or hubs in the College of Business, Arts & Social Sciences or a University Research Institute.
For this post we welcome research-active applicants with teaching and teacher education experience in the Primary phase. We particularly welcome applicants with expertise in STEM related fields such as mathematics, science, computing and a profile involving programme leadership, quality assurance and outreach work in ITE.
The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, child disqualification regulations and teacher prohibition order checks.
