A Theme General Manager is required to provide management support to aid the effective, efficient and productive operation of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Clinical Research Network (CRN) Coordinating Centre Clinical Theme office. You will support the Theme office by facilitating interactions between other areas of the CRN, such as Research Delivery, the national Specialty Groups & external stakeholders & customers. The post has operational management responsibility for the Theme office function, which includes enabling national meetings and specifically the national Specialty group meetings within the Theme. You will ensure that processes and procedures run smoothly and in accordance with high quality standards, thus enabling the Theme function to deliver their strategic objectives and priorities. You will report directly to the assistant Theme Lead and will liaise with all colleagues throughout the network as required.
You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and have an understanding and experience of the UK clinical research environment, including the NIHR Clinical Research Network, NHS structures and the funding mechanisms for research. A higher research degree or equivalent management qualification would be advantageous.
In addition to these formal qualifications, you will have outstanding operational management, organisational and communication skills and experience. Being able to work to deadlines and manage several work strands simultaneously will be important. Up to date digital technology skills are a requisite.
This post is a maternity cover and is tenable for 12 months up until December 2017.
