Digital Media Developer

Fixed term for 12 months

Expected start date:  October 2016

We are looking for a Digital Media Developer to enhance and grow the digital media activities of the School of Engineering and Informatics. You will be contributing to exciting new developments using the latest technologies and working in a state of the art university research environment. You will also be contributing to the development of a number of television and motion-graphics based productions and assisting with teaching in related areas.

Your role will include software development for mobile and desktop, asset management and workflow development, studio work, broadcast and outside-broadcast work, single camera production workflows, postproduction and teaching.

Successful candidates will have as a minimum a first degree in a computer science or related area, ideally with programming experience around app development. You will be appointed within the Department of Informatics, working with the Media Technology team lead by Dr Phil Watten. You will be expected to pursue project based research goals and actively contribute to project deliverables. You should also have good organisational and good interpersonal skills, and collaboration with other researchers is essential.
