This is an exciting opportunity to join the Department of Social Sciences at Loughborough University, part of the School of Social, Political and Geographical Sciences. The Department is recognized nationally and internationally for its excellence in research, teaching and enterprise.
Applications are invited from outstanding candidates with research and teaching interests in any area of social science, but we particularly welcome candidates with an interest in: digital media; big data; policing; migration; and/or social policy. The candidate must have experience of teaching and applying quantitative methods and will be expected to help lead the delivery of quantitative methods teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level and contribute to other areas of the curriculum as required. The lectureship will commence 1 February 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The successful candidate will join the interdisciplinary Department and will contribute to the delivery and development of BSc and MA degree programmes (Sociology, Criminology and Social Policy; and Communication and Media Studies).
Candidates are expected to have a completed PhD in a social science discipline, an active research profile, the clear potential to contribute to the Department's research culture, a strong commitment to high quality teaching in an HE environment, and to support the University Strategy, Building Excellence.
