A unique opportunity has arisen to join a small, vibrant and hard-working team at the heart of UCL’s busy student-facing support service. Responsible for the delivery of a programme of opportunities for students to gain international experience as part of their UCL studies, the Study Abroad Team work to promote global student mobility across the institution, providing a range of services for students considering, preparing for, or undertaking, a study abroad placement.
The role of Postgraduate Mobilities Coordinator is an exciting chance for an experienced international higher education professional to join the team and help shape our offering of opportunities for international activity at postgraduate level. The post-holder will be expected to develop and support a range of study abroad activities which cater to the needs of students on graduate and research programmes at UCL, supporting the implementation of the UCL Global Engagement Strategy and UCL 2034.
Responsibilities will include sourcing, promoting and supporting opportunities for international mobility, developing a range of resources to aid preparation and transition to living abroad, working with academic departments to identify opportunities to integrate mobility into new or existing activities and undertaking projects to support effective delivery of innovative global mobility opportunities across the institution. This work will be undertaken in collaboration with colleagues in the Study Abroad Team, wider Student Support and Wellbeing Team, across Student and Registry Services and from other divisions of the organisation, notably the Global Engagement Office, Vice Provost Education Office, Student Recruitment Marketing, UCL Careers and academic departments.
This post is funded until 31 st July 2019 in the first instance.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication (verbal and written), administrative and organisational skills, be able to work autonomously and with a team when required and be comfortable liaising with a wide range of people at different levels of the organisation and external agencies. You should have excellent attention to detail and be confident using a range of technology to accomplish your work. Your passion for international education and in particular student mobility should be evident in your approach.
