Applications are invited for the post of Information Assistant to join the Collection Development team within Library Services. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that is responsible for managing the full life-cycle of information resources for the main library collections, the stock management of physical collections and the development of online and audio-visual collections.

The post holder will use a range of software, including the Library Management System Aleph to carry out a variety of tasks. Duties will include: to process, accession and withdraw print journals, books, standing orders and online material; to assist with digital course readings and reading lists admin tasks; to provide support to the Interlending & Document Delivery Service; to participate in stock management activities, and to support other activities in the Collections & Research Support department to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person with excellent communication skills, a good eye for detail and a methodical approach to work, as well as a strong commitment, as part of a team, to providing resources and services to Library customers. Previous experience of working in a library is desirable, but not essential.
The selection process will include competency based questions and a panel interview
