Researcher Associate in Sea Level Research

University of Bristol - School of Geographical Sciences

The primary aim of this project is to determine the factors influencing sea level rise, including glacio-isostatic adjustment, during the satellite era and eventually, for the 20th Century by combining a range of satellite and ground-based observations within a statistical inference model.

This post requires a background in physical oceanography. You should, ideally, have experience in the analysis and interpretation of sea level data such as tide gauge records or satellite altimetry or a background in thermosteric and/or ocean heat budget studies. You must have good programming skills. Some experience of numerical modelling would be advantageous. This post is part of a European Research Council grant that includes four other positions tackling different aspects of the sea level budget.
