This is an outstanding opportunity to play a key role in the management of the Department of Politics and International Relations, a thriving department which is an internationally excellent centre for teaching and research.
Working closely with the Head of Department and other senior academic colleagues, the Head of Administration is central to the effective management and leadership of the Department, as well as to its efficient administration. You will have strategic, operational and compliance responsibilities and will oversee the development and implementation of the Department’s administrative procedures and systems within national and University frameworks.
You will oversee the administration and financial management of the Department and lead a team of administrative staff (currently 26.2 FTE).
With an honours degree or equivalent experience, you will have proven management and administrative skills, with the ability to effectively lead, manage and motivate staff teams. You will have substantial experience of financial management, including the ability to provide strategic and operational advice on planning and resource allocation.
