This is an exciting opportunity to work on a collaborative project between Heriot-Watt and RL Engineering to support company’s growth ambitions by enhancing business development capabilities, developing a new brand identity and securing a pipeline of skilled hydraulics engineers. As well as creating a market leading service proposition.
The position is located at RL Engineering, Rutherglen, Glasgow. The company specialises in hydraulics maintenance and solution support operating in the industrial and marine sectors. It is accredited by Lloyd's Register as an approved service supplier for hydraulic systems, examination of roll-on and roll-off ships and high pressure hydraulic cylinders.
The key duties of the post will involve: leading the review of RL Engineering capabilities; leading the review of RLE value proposition and redesign the RLE brand; leading the development and formalisation of a marketing strategy and sales process for win-order-conversions and leading the development of a pipeline for highly skilled hydraulic engineers and creating an end to end management tool kit.
Candidates should have an Honours degree (2:1 or above) in Engineering, with a particular interest in business development and a masters or equivalent postgraduate qualification, ideally in management with emphasis on Marketing or Strategy.
Candidates should be experienced, ideally with 2 years work experience in a relevant area. Mature candidates with interpersonal skills to conduct customer facing business development activities as well as implement change internally would be desirable. Also an understanding of and experience in hydraulics systems will be highly desirable. The candidate will require the educational background necessary to develop skills in implementing ICT based integrated contracts management solutions.
The post is available for 24 months.
