The Department of Art and Design is a vibrant and established element of the University of Chester, providing undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across a range of visual arts and design disciplines based at the recently refurbished Kingsway site in Chester.
The Department seeks to appoint a well-qualified, experienced and highly committed Senior Lecturer in Interior Design. The post is to lead and develop the new Interior Design programme in the department and will include the establishment of a programme delivery team, the identification of appropriate resources and the detail construction of the curriculum experience for the students. The successful candidate will be fully committed to working in higher education and have a sound knowledge of contemporary interior design practice. The role will include the teaching and assessment of students at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
The successful candidate will undertake pastoral duties in support of students as required. You will have the flexibility to communicate to undergraduate and postgraduate students on a range of art and design programmes and stimulate debate and research in the interchange between emerging spatial design concepts, new technologies and the role of interior design in contemporary culture.
You will have a relevant first degree and a master’s qualifications or equivalent.
