We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and self-motivated person to the post of Senior Student Funding Adviser (Outreach) based in the Academic Office. You will work in the Student Funding Team to organise and deliver a creative programme of outreach activities to prospective and current students, parents, schools and colleges focussing on all aspects of student finance and funding. You will be imaginative and innovative in your approach to engaging with young people and have experience of using and presenting advice and guidance resources in a dynamic way. You will engage with colleagues across the University to support departmental outreach and widening participation initiatives.
You will have a good honours degree and excellent presentational and organisational skills. You will be able to demonstrate a good use of initiative and have the ability to prioritise a high workload. A sound knowledge of student financial support arrangements is a key requirement of the post together with an appreciation of current issues surrounding widening participation and fair access to higher education. You will be able to demonstrate experience of communicating complex messages and information using a variety of social media and learning platforms.
You will need to be flexible in your pattern of working as some evening and weekend work will be required. You will be required to lead and attend the Student Funding Team’s input on all University Open Days which will include weekend working.
