For more than eight centuries the University of Cambridge has been at the centre of discoveries and inventions and has changed our understanding of the world and the way we live our lives. Alongside such prestigious academic talent sits a highly efficient business operation that ensures the University runs smoothly and effectively.
The role of Business Analyst plays an important role in reviewing existing processes and practices in the University's finance function and seeking ways for continuous improvement. Reporting to the Assistant Director for Financial Operations you will work in a stand alone capacity but will be the critical friend for a wide audience. You will be a problem spotter and a solutions finder and will use your knowledge of financial processes, procedures and controls to identify ways to operate more effectively and efficiently, and contribute to implementing those improvements. You will have a friendly and positive nature, using your natural positivity to influence those that may not immediately recognise the opportunities and benefits of change.
You are likely to have experience of running projects and this may be underpinned by a formal project management qualification.
The prospects for this role are hard to quantify but given the high visibility the post holder will have throughout the institution, this will undoubtedly be a stepping stone for an ambitious individual.
Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic disclosure (criminal records check) check, a health assessment and a security check.
