The School of Law of The University of Manchester is pleased to welcome applications for the postgraduate research studentship award as part of the EPSRC Doctoral Training Partnership for candidates wishing to start PhD study in September 2017. The studentship comprises full-time tuition fees at RCUK approved rate, an annual stipend starting at approx. £14,500 (subject to confirmation) and £1,000/year research training support grant (RTSG) for the student. Projects aligned to EPSRC’s shortage areas (Engineering, ICT, Materials, Mathematics - particularly statistics and operational research) can be considered for an enhanced stipend.

The studentships is available for UK and EU applicants who hold an upper second class degree or above and a master’s degree with an overall mark of 60% or above, or an equivalent combination of qualification and/or experience. Additionally, they are expected to meet the specific requirements of the intended PhD programme. Depending on the candidates’ residential eligibility, the award can be made as a full studentship or tuition fees only studentship. The proposed research project must be within the remit of EPSRC’s research themes. Candidates should consult EPSRC website for further details of the research themes and sub-themes.
