The Department of Chemistry is keen to build on its track record of success with major cross-departmental research initiatives by recruiting a Research Facilitator to support academic staff in developing research proposals. Research Support within the College operates in a team-based collegiate environment and the appointee will be a key member of the research support team in the Department of Chemistry.
This is a new position within the Department of Chemistry, reporting to the Department’s Director of Research. The aim of the post is to take the lead in supporting academic staff across the Department to identify, develop, organise, publicise and manage large scale research grant applications. The post holder will play a key role in enhancing and supporting the Department’s research portfolio.
The successful candidate will have a clear understanding of the full cycle of research funding, from application stage to dissemination of research outputs. They will have worked in a higher education/research institution, funding agency or within industry and have experience in preparing research funding applications.
We are seeking someone who has experience in presenting key issues to senior managers and academic staff and has an excellent understanding of the national and international research funding landscape.
It is essential that you are experienced at contributing and negotiating at a senior level with staff and external agencies and achieving successful conclusions, as well as organising networking events.
The ability to develop strong and productive working relationships with academic and research staff and members of the research support teams is also essential.
