The roles will be responsible for all aspects of financial management, control and support within the College.
The role holder will take a lead in providing financial input to the strategic management of the College and will be expected to use his/her functional expertise to support senior colleagues in identifying best value solutions for the strategic and operational risks and opportunities faced. A key element of the role is the value add / interpretation that the role holder will be expected to provide, particularly through seeking out and supporting business development opportunities ensuring only opportunities with sound business cases are progressed and measuring delivery against plans. Maximisation of return on academic time and re-use of intellectual property created will be key drivers of success.
The role holder will lead the financial budgeting and planning processes within the College and will ensure that effective reporting mechanisms are in place to develop a ‘no surprises’ culture. The role holder will also be expected to work closely with the central Finance Office to ensure that transactional support is delivered in an effective and efficient manner utilising the appropriate corporate system and process and ensuring that personnel comply with the inherent financial controls.
The role holder will provide professional leadership of the finance function within the College and will ensure that the organisation design and capability levels are fit for purpose.
Terms and Conditions
Salary: from £57,674 per annum.
The appointee, if aged less than 60, will be eligible to join the Universities Superannuation scheme, a defined-benefit pension scheme, with pension entitlement related to final salary.
