A position for a Technician (Workshop) is available in the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape. Reporting to the Technical Manager and School Manager the appointee will be responsible for providing service to over 600 students and staff predominantly in the School's busy workshop and digital fabrication suite.
You should have proven skills in wood working and relevant workshop practice, a comprehensive and detailed knowledge of workshop techniques, covering a broad range of materials and methods, and a thorough understanding of safety requirements within an educational workshop environment. Knowledge of digital fabrication methods including: 3D printing, laser cutting and CNC routing, casting and mould making techniques, and basic first aid are also essential.
