WMG is a rapidly expanding department at the University of Warwick. We have a significant amount of involvement with other staff, students and external customers who you will assist to meet their technical specifications and achieve high levels of customer satisfaction.
You will have substantial experience in the operation of workshop equipment including milling machines and lathes. You will be able to demonstrate use of compressed air, power, water and oil cooling systems ideally with a bias to the development of bespoke test and experimental equipment, and operation of such equipment for the purposes of producing experimental data.
Excellent communication skills will enable you to confidently liaise with academics, students, other staff and external partners in the setting up, running and maintenance of specialist equipment as well as providing advice on the feasibility of practical experimental design and manufacture. You will also have a high level of health and safety awareness, to enable you to guide and supervise safe practice.
You will have a flexible approach to work, to meet the changing demands of research and industry collaboration and, ideally, you will have successfully completed an Engineering Apprenticeship. You will hold a HNC / ONC in Engineering or similar qualification or relevant experience in a related engineering discipline / environment.
