The Imperial Centre for Cardiovascular Disease Prevention (ICCP) is a recently established Unit within the Department of Primary Care and Public Health that focuses on cardiovascular research, ultimately aiming the prevention of cardiovascular disease in the community. It coordinates and leads national and international large registries and cohort studies, is involved in different clinical trials, and is actively engaged in evidence-synthesis and policy development on cardiovascular disease prevention.
Imperial’s Global eHealth Unit is at the forefront of the introduction and implementation of IT innovation into health care systems. Based within the Department of Primary Care and Public Health, the unit is involved in local London, national and international collaborations involving interdisciplinary and cross-boundary research.
This post will primarily provide an opportunity to contribute to analyses for observational studies relating to cardiovascular disease risk prediction for various patient cohorts, using data from the Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD). Support will be provided by academic, clinical and senior statistical colleagues within the Unit, but experience managing and analysing large clinical datasets would be requisite. Knowledge and experience of retrospective analyses of routine healthcare data would also be particularly helpful.
The post-holder will be involved in the preparation of data summaries and reports for funders and publication, and in scoping and developing future work plans.
The post holder should have a PhD or equivalent in Epidemiology, Statistics, Health Services Research, or a related discipline. The post holder will have an outstanding level of accuracy and attention to detail and will be confident with data security and data confidentiality.
This is a full time, fixed term post. The length of the contract will be 16 months in the first instance. The post is based at the Charing Cross Campus in Hammersmith.
