The Sports Department is currently recruiting for a part-time sports assistant to work at our Sutton Bonington Sports Centre. The successful candidate will join a successful team who support a wide range of activities associated with the operation of a diverse range of sporting facilities.
The role requires supporting the day-to-day operation of the sports centre and the wider delivery of sports based programmes, providing an excellent level of customer service at all times.
This will include, the preparation of all facilities to support a variety of uses and users, the delivery of fitness classes & sports tournaments; undertaking general maintenance, effective supervision of the sports centre activities, ensuring the health, safety and welfare of customers; provide immediate first aid when required; provide a high quality, friendly, well organised and professional customer experience, taking payments and resolving customer queries and enquiries when necessary, in person and via telephone.
Candidates must have evidence of educational competence i.e. GCSE, or equivalent, Maths and English at Grade C or above & have one or more out of NVQ II Gym instructor, Exercise to Music and/or a Level 2 Coaching Award (or equivalent qualifications). The successful candidate will also possess a First Aid Qualification or have the capacity to attain that qualification once appointed and will be required to conform to the Department uniform regulations, including wearing Personal Protective Equipment where necessary and whenever advised to do so.
Hours of work are 11 hours per week. Candidates will need to be flexible in their approach to their working hours, noting that the operational hours range between 5.30am and 11 pm seven days a week. Post holders may occasionally be asked to work outside of normal working hours, for some events and essential building maintenance.
Hours of work:
Saturdays 12:30-18:30 (includes a scheduled 30-minute break)
Sundays 12:30-18:30 (includes a scheduled 30-minute break)
