The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be £34,056 to £41,163 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.

This post-doctoral position within the Information Security Research Group of the UCL department of Computer Science under the supervision of Prof. G. Danezis. The position will involve independent scientific research in the field of scalable distributed ledgers in support of the EU H2020 DECODE consortium. The appointee will oversee and deliver key parts of the design, and evaluation of a scalable ledger, as well as pursue independent research. This post commences on 1 January 2017 and is funded until the 31 December 2018 (24 months) in the first instance. Further funding to support the post may be available.

The appointee should have, or be expecting to imminently receive, a PhD in computer science. Preferably they would have a track record of original research in computer security, cryptography, networking and systems. A strong track record of publications in top venues in those areas will be consider a significant advantage, and so would be engineering skills relating to the topic of the EU H2020 DECODE project (networking, security engineering, distributed systems and cryptography). Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD; if this is not the case, initial appointment will be at research assistant Grade 6B (salary £29,809 - £31,432 per annum) with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD thesis (including corrections).
