Project Coordinator: International Project Cardiovascular Disease in Russia

This project aims to contribute to the reduction of cardiovascular disease mortality in Russia. This will be achieved through the creation of new and more definitive knowledge about the nature and causes of cardiovascular disease in Russia compared to other countries, as well as by providing evidence about the scope to improve the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease in Russia.

We are seeking to appoint a Project Coordinator. The post holder will report to and support the work of the Project Manager, who is responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of the international project “Cardiovascular disease in Russia: strengthening evidence about causes, mechanisms, prevention and treatment”. The work of the Project Coordinator will vary from week to week depending upon project activities and priorities. 

The post holder will support the Project Manager in arranging the project meetings, administrative documentation, monitoring and reporting on budget, coordination of project activities, completion of the information on project website and assist with the other administrative activities related to the project management.

The post-holder must have higher education to degree level, or equivalent, or substantial relevant experience. They will have experience of administration and the provision of support services; experience in producing papers, agendas and minutes for meetings in English and Russian languages. Understanding and familiarity of working in or with Russian organisations. Experience of working in an academic environment and monitoring and reporting on research budgets would be an advantage.

The post is based in London at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. The appointment is available from 26th October 2016 and is funded for 24 months in the first instance. The appointment will be made on LSHTM’s Professional Support Pathway scale 5 (£33,006- £37,889) per annum. The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time. In addition to this there are discretionary “Director’s Days”. Membership of the USS Pension Scheme is available.
