This is an exciting time to join the Faculty of Business and Law and we are looking for an exceptional strategic leader for the Faculty’s External Engagement Centre who will promote the delivery of the Faculty’s ambition to have external engagement as a core part of all its activities and integration of these activities within the Faculty’s core business.
The Faculty of Business and Law has engagement with the business community at its heart with a long history of engagement at a variety of levels within the Faculty. This new post is to enhance this activity and to ensure that commercial activities undertaken link into the core business of the Faculty.
As the Director of Bristol Business Engagement Centre you will hold a key leadership role within the Faculty of Business and Law and will lead the development and implementation of Faculty strategy and plans for external engagement. Increasing the financial contribution made by the Faculty's commercial activity and linking this activity to teaching, learning and research is at the core of the role.
You will lead the External Engagement Centre for 0.8 of the time; the other 0.2 of your time will be devoted to teaching/research/knowledge exchange.
In January 2017 a brand new dedicated Faculty building will open providing an exceptional learning environment to students, staff and external organisations.
Facilities include court rooms, a trading room, a legal and business advice clinic, space for businesses to work from and fully technology enabled learning environments. The new building is based next to the new University Enterprise Zone which has recently opened.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Undergraduate and postgraduate, or equivalent professional qualifications in an area relevant to the Faculty.
- A substantial record of achievement in successful and financially viable partnership working and of delivering to KPI’s.
- Experience of design and delivery of high quality educational and/or professional development programmes ideally in the HE sector.
- Experience of leadership within an education-based organisation of comparable size and complexity.
