This is an exciting opportunity for a postdoctoral Research Associate to apply scientific and technical skills to a real clinical problem. The successful applicant will join a multidisciplinary team of physicists, urologists, mathematicians, clinical research fellows and academic radiologists located within close proximity at UCL and UCL Hospitals in central London. The project aims to remove the image distortions that can confound diagnosis in the diffusion MRI of prostate cancer.
The project is funded by a Cancer Research UK Multi-Disciplinary Award that funds two research associate positions. The successful applicant will be based within the UCL Centre for Medical Imaging and will develop new MRI acquisition sequences and reconstruction techniques. The post holder will work closely with the second research associate based in the Computer Science Department (with expertise in modelling and solving inverse problems). The post holder will be engaged with the clinical aspects of the project and also have the opportunity to develop and publish their own novel methods.
The post is funded for 3 years in the first instance.
The successful candidate will have a PhD or equivalent in physics, biomedical engineering, or a comparable subject. They will have experience and skills in MRI acquisition and be able to work within a multi-disciplinary team including both basic scientists and clinicians.
